Download MakeUseOf.com Guides - Google Dork

Well makeuseof.com guides are good read for the average computer users and sometimes the guide from them can be quite useful for startup in particular topic. But, I hate the ways we need to follow to download so here's a simple google dork to find PDFs from makeuseof.com

MakeUseOf.Com provides three methods to download the guides: social media sharing, 99 cent payment, and subscription to their newsletter. I hate when sites impose such things and here is how you can get those PDFs directly.

Go to google and type the following in search box:

site:amazonaws.com inurl:makeuseof.com

or, CLICK HERE!!!

Enjoy free MakeUseOf.Com guides ;)

Slalom Canoe 2012 Google Doodle Trick

Google has been releasing the doodles with the Olympic themes and the latest one is the Slalom Canoe doodle. If you guys have not been trying these doodles, you are missing the obvious fun. In this post, I'll reveal a very very simple trick to obtain extremely short timing so that you guys can share in fb and boast with your friends :D

Most of the people have been using the HTML inspection and editing to have an awesome statistics in the doodle. The trick is to use the "Inspect Element" feature of the browsers and edit the values of different HTML elements that wrap the scores and stars.

However, many non-techies might have found that method to be cumbersome so here's even more simpler trick. The trick here is to note the system time you start canoeing and once you are near to the end of race, edit your system time to retain the value, for example, only 1 second ahead of system time you had noted while you were starting.

If you don't know how to change system time, windows users can access through the bottom right part of the Desktop where your system time is displayed and linux users should right-click and select preferences in one of the panels containing time.

You can even leave the slalom canoe tab as it is and continue your other tasks and once you feel you are to the end of the race, adjust the system time so that the difference from starting time is minimal (as you need).

The best thing about this trick is its simplicity and clean nature which leaves no trail for finding the cheating (of course, unless you decide to have too low time or negative time).

Note that this is cheating and is discouraged though :D

Original credits to Brisha for this trick.

GooQuiz v. 0.1 Released : Useful For Googling Challenge

GooQuiz is a small web based tool to use as a networked googling quiz software. This tool was developed for IT Meet 2011 event organized by Kathmandu University Computer Club on Dec 4-5, 2011.

The tool allows any number of users to access the system and participate in the googling quiz. A question is given and its answer has to be given within the allocated time after using the google search engine. The person to answer the question first wins the game.

Visit the SourceForge Page

Installation:

- Copy all the files in the folder "googling" to your web folder.
- Give proper permission to the ./pages/question.php file to make it writable. (eg. chmod u+x pages/question.php)
- Open MySQL interface of your choice, create a database called googling and then import dump.sql
- Open ./lib/classes/DBConnection.php and then set the correct database server, username and password.
- Finally open ./config/config.php and set the different configurations as per your need.
- Admin panel is located at ./admin/ and if you need to access admin panel from remote computers, set the $localonly = 0.
- Finally, this tool is yet to be completed and requires little bit techie person to handle it. Addition of questions and few other stuffs should be done from MySQL interface.

Coding might be rough since I had to do it in a single night within very minimum time available. And a lot of stuffs are not user-friendly and admin-friendly. Maybe I'll extend it in the next year IT Meet event. Till then, cya. Bye.

And I would like to thank Brisha for quickly designing the layout of the tool.

Simple Movie Searching Trick with Google

While this post is not anything other than just another simple google dork for advanced google users, it still will help a lot of net beginners to search movies using google.

The trick for searching movies is just another usage of directory browsing feature in many webservers. So our text would be something like below:

"index of /" "parent directory" "movie name"

Just replace the movie name with the name of your movie and you are good to go. Moreover, you can customize this dork to include extensions(such as .avi, .mkv). Just be creative and you'll find most of the movies to download just by using google. And for download, I use axel or sometimes FatRat under linux.

For example, check the first result in the following dork for sniper movie. Yeah it is simple and really works.

"index of /" "parent directory" inurl:movies "sniper" ".avi"

How To Steal Various Keylogger's Log

Keylogger is a device or program that captures activities from an input device. Malicious people can make use of keyloggers to capture personal information being input into a computer system. Many of these keyloggers have the feature of uploading the log to some pre-defined(set by hackers) FTP servers. We can exploit this feature of keyloggers with the help of our Big Daddy, Google to obtain the logs of these keyloggers.

There are numerous keyloggers out there in the market and they provide this useful feature of FTP uploading of logs. But, the google is so powerful that it also indexes these log files. We can use the texts that are generally used by keyloggers to write in the text file. For example, following is the format of how iStealer, one of the widely used stealer, records the log through FTP.

Program: Firefox
Url/Host: http://www.google.com
Login: xxxxx
Password: xxxxx
Computer: samar-pc
Date: 2011-04-23 01:33:03
Ip: 116.90.*.*

So, we can use the terms such as Program, Url/Host, Login, etc. as the search keywords. The following search phrase would then reveal the iStealer's log.

Program: Url/Host: Login: Password: Computer: Date: Ip:

You can creatively specify the particular hosts or programs of which you want the login information. Moreover, you might also want to use the Date feature of advanced google search to find the latest results as they will have more likelyhood to work.

Another log format of some other keylogger is something like below so you can figure out the possible dork for this format.

APPLICATION : Firefox 4.0
URL : https://www.facebook.com
USERNAME : samar
PASSWORD : 144334@&%

You can actually experiment on your own to create new useful dorks. Many times, you will find good stuffs using these dorks. Just be creative with what you look for. I hope this guides you a little. :)

inurl:/thankyou*.html intitle:Thank you for your order! intext:Click Here to Download
intitle:"Thank You For Your Order!" intext:download

Browsing the restricted forums without registering

Well it has worked for me and I am posting how you can browse the restricted forums by misusing the SEO things(I guess). A website traffic hugely depends upon the google search and hence most of the websites allow the google bot to crawl and index their pages for appearing in the search result. Now the google bot useragent is allowed to crawl any restricted forum and hence they can index those pages.

The requirement is the useragent switcher add-on for firefox which can be downloaded from HERE. Install this addon and restart it.

Now in the firefox menu, under tools, you will see a new option Default User Agent from where you can choose different user agents and add new user agents. Among the available user agents, you will find the Google Bot 2.1 useragent under the Search Robots option. Choose the Google Bot 2.1 as your default user agent and now start visiting the forums that were asking you to register. It will also work on other types of websites which usually require login. I hope this helps you. Thanks :)
